How the public website and the local Rubin Nights application handle data.

Website hosting and downloads
The public website is hosted by STRATO. When pages or downloads are requested, the web server may process the IP address, date and time, requested file, transferred volume, referrer, browser and operating system for delivery, security, error analysis and abuse prevention. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. As the project default, IP addresses are anonymized and log data is retained for up to 60 days unless a concrete security incident or legal duty requires longer retention.
The website does not use advertising, analytics, profiling or tracking cookies.
Local application data
The Windows application stores its configuration, Rubin report cache, imported object data, generated website, status and logs locally in its application folder. These files can be removed by the user. A selected OBS80 file is read and evaluated entirely inside the browser; its content is not sent to a local or public server. The browser stores Object Check settings and the last successful result, plus the selected Field Coverage date range, locally so they can be restored.
The daily updater requests official Rubin report files from the Rubin source server. Object files and evaluation results are not sent with those requests. Rubin Nights currently performs no automatic product-version check.
Recipients, international transfers and contact
STRATO processes website hosting data in Germany or the European Union. Accessing the Rubin source server may transmit normal connection metadata to a server in the United States. Email or postal enquiries are processed to answer the request under Article 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR and are normally deleted after 60 days when no continuing matter or legal retention duty applies.
Your rights
You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability or object to processing where the legal requirements are met. You may also complain to a data protection authority. In Schleswig-Holstein, the competent authority can be reached through ULD Schleswig-Holstein.
