# NEO Impact Studio - Rechenkern 1.9.0 / Setup 1.9.1

Windows x64 CLI. The installed EXE contains its Python runtime, numeric libraries,
native-resolution renderer, FFmpeg encoder and the reviewed CERNQ52 scenario.
Keep the EXE together with its `_internal` directory.

## Installation

Interactive: open `NEOImpactStudio-Setup.exe`.

Silent installation without an administrator prompt:

```powershell
.\NEOImpactStudio-Setup.exe /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART /SP- /DIR="D:\NEOImpact\installed\NEOImpactStudio" /LOG="D:\NEOImpact\Internal\setup.log"
```

Wait for installer exit. Exit code 0 means successful installation. The installation
directory can be changed with `/DIR`. No service, autostart or upload is installed.
Silent uninstall: `unins000.exe /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART`.

## Generate a current object webpage

```powershell
.\NEOImpactStudio.exe CERNQ52 --workdir D:\NEOImpact
```

The webpage generator accepts other NEOCP designations. It fetches their current
source; missing impact/covariance information never becomes a foreign scenario.

## Recalculate and render the complete movie

```powershell
.\NEOImpactStudio.exe CERNQ52 --video --resolution 4k --threads 4 --workdir D:\NEOImpact --video-output D:\NEOImpact\videos\entry-exe-4k
```

`4k` is native 3840x2160, `1080p` is 1920x1080, `vga` is 640x480.
All outputs use square pixels and 30 fps. Every moving-body state is calculated
directly at its frame epoch; there is no frame or trajectory interpolation.
The render retains real fall time, 0.3-second surface flashes, one-second hold,
and a final ten-second orbit. English captions and monospaced UTC are embedded.

Output includes the MP4, exact computed states, numerical convergence evidence,
camera/framing records, representative PNGs and SHA-256 hashes. A completed output
directory is protected from replacement; choose a new directory for another run.
After an interrupted rendering only, add `--resume-render` to explicitly reuse
the already calculated states. A normal invocation always recalculates physics.

The CERNQ52 video scenario uses: the pinned 2026-09-06 16:40 UTC
29/30-observation covariance, with mean plus 100 alternatives. It does not fetch
a different fit or imply 101 physical fragments. Assumptions: 0.9-m body,
3500 kg/m3, standard atmosphere, no wind or fragmentation, sea-level Earth sphere.
All queried PVGIS corridor locations are sea. Map tiles retain their source
resolution, while Earth projection, geographic geometry and text render natively.

## Local product page

Open `product\index.html` after installation. This page requires no server and
must never be uploaded. No telemetry, external fonts, analytics or remote scripts.

## Ribbeck / 2024 BX1 (Germany)

```powershell
.\NEOImpactStudio.exe 2024BX1 --video --resolution 4k --threads 4 --workdir D:\NEOImpact --video-output D:\NEOImpact\videos\ribbeck-exe-4k
```

The default Ribbeck movie uses the full JPL SBDB covariance: 100 mutually
exclusive orbital alternatives plus a separate nominal reference. These are
possible trajectories of ONE asteroid, not 101 physical fragments. The assumed
intact body has 140 kg at 300 km, density 3100 kg/m3, and ablation coefficient
0.005 kg/MJ. Atmospheric flight uses a standard atmosphere without fragmentation
or wind; it is not a reconstruction of the observed Ribbeck fragmentation.

Every frame epoch is integrated directly, with an independent half-step numerical
check. Real modeled fall time is retained. The intro takes 10/3 seconds; approach
rotation stops by the first 10 km crossing. Contact flashes, hold and final
ten-second orbit remain. The separate Strewn field feature below adds a
configurable conditional fragment model and weather profiles.

Brandenburg/Berlin aerial imagery (GeoBasis-DE/LGB / Geoportal Berlin,
dl-de/by-2-0) is the main surface with a small topographic map in the same image;
NASA Blue Marble covers the global view. Native source detail varies by extent;
the cache is not a worldwide high-resolution aerial image service. PVGIS supplies
cached terrain with disclosed spatial interpolation and geoid conversion.
The dataset report records its bounds and height datum. Image capture dates differ
from the historical event. Source URLs and hashes accompany the cache.

The grid uses unchanged nice-degree intervals and one-pixel lines. Consolas labels
are filled without outlines. A windowless OpenGL 4.3 renderer computes fresh rays
for every native output pixel, with double-precision geometry. If unavailable,
the CPU renderer uses the same geometry. Motion is always calculated on the CPU;
no frame interpolation, upscaling, downloaded video or previous-frame reuse.

## Interactive GUI and France (1.5.0)

`NEOImpactStudio.exe --gui --workdir D:\NEOImpact` opens the local browser GUI. No page is published. Play/pause, exact frame scrubbing, rotation at any time, LR/RL stereo, individual scales. Map is hidden in stereo.

`NEOImpactStudio.exe 2023CX1 --video --workdir D:\NEOImpact --video-output D:\NEOImpact\videos\france-2023cx1-exe-4k-150` recalculates all states and renders 4K/30fps. JPL14 combines telescopic and atmospheric observations. Hypothetical intact650kg, density3300, GammaA.7, sigma.003; no actual fragmentation reconstruction.

## Configurable strewn fields

Open `--gui`, then **Strewn field**. The entry covariance sample count is independent of fragments per alternative; one nominal reference is additional. More samples than saved are propagated with the existing N-body kernel.

```bat
NEOImpactStudio.exe --strewn-field --workdir D:\NEOImpact --states D:\NEOImpact\videos\ribbeck-covariance-exe-4k\states --parameters parameters.json --output D:\NEOImpact\results\strewn
```

Export parameters from the GUI. Weather auto uses archived/current GFS from 2022 onward and ERA5 before that. ERA5 needs a CDS personal token saved by the local GUI, or CDSAPI_KEY in the environment, and accepted ERA5 pressure-level terms. No silent weather substitution. Single breakup, no lift or secondary fragmentation, horizontally uniform frozen weather column. Exports include all endpoints and explicit unresolved/ablated status. Colored envelopes are not probability contours.

## Precomputed fragmentation heights (1.7.0)

Open Strewn field and use Load event preset, then Calculate. For Ribbeck the
height library spans 24–66 km MSL in 2 km intervals, additionally including
the published fragmentation/fragment-origin heights. Minimum, maximum and
spacing are editable. All requested covariance alternatives are integrated at
every height. Sliding selects cached landings; it never recalculates or
interpolates trajectories. The library stores all endpoints; a single-height
run also exports trajectory samples.

CLI JSON settings: `calculation_mode: "height_library"`, `height_min: 24000`,
`height_max: 66000`, `height_step: 2000`, `breakup_mode: "height"`.
Use the existing `--strewn-field --parameters <JSON>` CLI command. Results are
in `library.json`, with complete per-height exports in cache/strewn-heights.
Reuse is keyed to orbital states, weather, terrain, model revision and settings.
Parameter edits do not change the provenance of a displayed older result.

Ribbeck preset uses measured bulk density and an explicit absolute gram-mass
distribution; unrepresented parent material receives no invented landings.
This is a family of conditional single-breakup experiments, not a validated
multi-stage reconstruction. All 202 published recovery records are retained;
186 have published coordinates, including positions marked approximate.
The original intact-body video is a separate scenario and is unchanged.

Version1.7.1: height_schedule="geometric_90", height_max=50000, height_min=10000 computes17heights in descending order: 50,45,40.5,...,10.294556605,10km. Each intermediate height is90percent of the preceding height;10km is an explicitly integrated endpoint. No interpolation. height_schedule="linear_published" retains the optional regular/published-height grid.

## Streufeldsimulation 1.8.0 (lokal)

`NEOImpactStudio.exe --strewn-video --workdir D:\NEOImpact --states <Zustandsordner> --output <neuer Videoordner> --parameters <JSON> --resolution 4k --threads 4`

`--threads`:1–8,Standard4.

Ansichten: Fallsimulation / Streufeldberechnung / Streufeldsimulation. Das ausgewählte Objekt bleibt beim Wechsel erhalten. „Nur Nominalkörper“ schaltet die anderen Populationen aus; die Berechnung selbst bleibt unverändert vollständig.
